Rapid Prototyping of Smart Products for IoT with a Designing Platform for Social Manufacturing

The aim of this presentation is to introduce Generative Design Platform (GDP) developed in the European funded iPRODUCE project and its application to the prototyping of smart products in the IoT area. With GDP a design is personalized by parameters collected from diverse participants. A use case shows how rapid prototypes help to evaluate design, IoT functionality with different user interaction at early phases by connecting a physical prototype to its digital representation.
This approach enables collaborative customer participation in the prototyping of IoT products. The virtual prototype simulates design decisions, and the remote access facilitates collective prototyping.

Anjelika Votintseva
Anjelika Votintseva is a scientific researcher at Siemens Technology, User Experience, Platforms & Prototypes research group. She studied Computer Science in Novosibirsk State University and got her PhD in 1997 in Russia in the field of formal specification and verification models and methods. She currently develops the Generative Design Platform and manages the EU project iProduce (Siemens side).

Maryna Zabigailo
Maryna Zabigailo is a working student at Siemens Technology, User Experience, Platforms & Prototypes research group. She received her first Master's Degree in "Translational Studies" in V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University in 2013 in Ukraine. Currently she finishes her second Master's Degree in "Entrepreneurship and Digital Transformation" at Munich University of Applied Sciences in Germany. The implementation of virtual and physical prototypes, the development of user interfaces, and the evaluation of user experience belong to her contributions in the Generative Design Platform project.
