Automatic Asset onboarding with OpenAI

Asset onboarding is the most tedious job during any Industrial IoT project and must happen as one of the first steps. For assets without an OPC UA interface, this is especially time-consuming in most cases, as the asset's information model is usually only available in a PDF or Excel spreadsheet and must be manually entered into the industrial connectivity software.

With the advancements of generative AI, this work can be mostly automated. Microsoft and Siemens developed a prototype for this and contributed it open-source to the OPC Foundation.
